The Slums, the ghettos, these large strips of land that are on the coast of Terra are occupied by those who didn't embrace the newfound technology. These people do not consider themselves apart of Terra and govern themselves. The Fauna of the land is the only thing that separates the major cities of Terra and the Slums and that is about 20 miles thick as it's almost like a natural border surrounding the nation.
The people of this land do trade with the major cities of Terra for supplies and some protection within their own society from all of the violence. Most people of the slums grow up to become farmers, hunters, and sailors of the Iris. However, in these slums there is a lot of violence with various gangs, robbers, and killers.
