History of the Races
In Magus there are various race/classes. Some race/classes have been around for a few thousand years, some have yet to exist for a decade. These classes/races are what make up Magus what it is today. Some have been through a lot. Others have come from major events. Regardless to how they got here these are important parts of Magus history.
Faeries
The hands and voices of the Silva, Faerie are considered to be the first creatures to posses magical abilities and are said to grant that magic through others. when the Silva approves. Faeries do nothing but mend to the Silva and keep the forest in great condition so magic can flow freely and easily through Magus like air. Faerie, due to their position in Magus have various abilities such as talking to animals and plants. This helps Faeries keep order in the circle of life for Magus.
Faerie, like most others, do not get along with Orcs. When the Orcs planned their attacks on the Silva to rid the land of magic, the Faeries responded with violence but stuck with non-lethal tactics such as traps and spells. For centuries, they would fight the Orcs for the sake of Magus ,more importantly, the Silva.
Rumor has it that Faeries are not born but spawned from the Fae Queen's magic source within thick trees in the Silva before they are born. The Queen has the job of overseeing all of the Silva and making sure there is complete balance in Magus.
Elves
The Elves are an elite group of warriors. As the Silva made the Faeries, they also made the Elf. Elves are initially meant to do nothing but protect the Silva, at least that was their initial reason for existing as the Fae tended to the Silva, the elves were made to protect the Silva as the Orc invasions had gotten very, very violent. Faeries were being killed as Orcs used very destructive methods. Elves were brought up upon the near extinction of the Faerie defense group.
These beings were given the ability to craft weapons out of thin air for the sake of protecting as they would fend off the Orc foes in heated battles. Their weapons growing stronger as they adjusted to the Orc tactics and created what would work. After the wars, the elves utilized their powers for crafting as well which developed by the years.
Spellacasters
There once was a man stranded on an island; this man was considered the first mage. He was a traveler from a distant land that was not within Magus. No one knows, to this day, where this man has come from but he ended up in the Silva. While in the Silva, the man encountered a female, the Fae Queen at the time.
The female saved the man from starvation and taught him the ways of Magus and how to love thy land and appreciate all of life. With this, the two became great friends. The male was a normal person -- a human. After time, the two fell in love and soon married and soon after that, had a child on the way. It was a great time until the Orc invasions had begun and the man, now the leader of the Faerie defense force, was left to die
on one of the battlefields during a raid.
The man's family was in danger of being killed by Orcs, as he died, he wished for one thing from the Silva and that was the power to fight and save his family. He was soon given this power. This man became the manifestation of magical power as he was given the ability to protect his family. He proved to be successful as he saved the Silva but died soon after as he was not born to handle so much magic potential, but his child was. Thus begins the start of the spellcasters in Magus as the man died, he wrote hundreds of books on what the Silva and faeries had taught him.
Merfolk
Merfolks are half fish and half people. They don't have much of an origin story but have been said to exist since the elves.
Orcs
Orcs, the most evil force within Magus. These creatures are said to be the negative of the Silva. These creatures were formed due to the negative release of dark magic from the Silva and exist to destroy magic. That being said, Orcs have no way of using Magic and hate the Silva even more because of it. They lead in raids and various attacks throughout Magus's history to just destroy the Silva and even joined James Copperfield in the revolution that failed against Terra. Since then, it has died down and Orcs have given up on destroying the Silva but still hold a deep hatred for it and the other creatures of Magus.
