When Bertha nearly hit, most of East Asia perished. The small countries had went down in earthquakes, tsunamis, and hellish storms. It was a free-for-all for survival as most small nations would flee to larger nations. In most cases the nation's leaders would open their gates to the smaller nations. The larger nations being Japan, China, and the Koreas would let in anyone they could. Many people would be left after the conditions on their land like Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines had gotten too extreme to send anymore evacts.
Even those who were evacuated had to deal with many things like foreign disease, wildlife, and a substantial lack of resources. The natives on these Nations weren't in the best conditions either as they dealt with the issues and now over population as crime had increased drastically. With all of these countries now clumped together the leaders of each tried the best they could to keep things under control. Soon riots broke out and East Asia had become dangerous territory for anyone. Defense forces and armies were out on city streets and neighborhoods. It was chaos.
Things didn't get better in New Asia as The Collision soon came and nearly 200,000,000 people would die; 400,000,000 more died due to the after effects. The extreme conditions that the land was under was immense as the people tried their best to persevere. Scientist from all over tried to gather ideas and thoughts as to how they would live in these barbaric conditions. With all of these minds thinking together for a greater cost they had soon found various ways to enhance the technology that they had; to combine their thoughts and give up their detest for one another so that they all could live.
Building and utilizing basic mech suits, finding alternate energy sources, and making artificial yet nearly authentic and safe food they quickly built into a larger and much stronger group. Then the disputes would happen. Some craved power and like in the old millennium, a cold war had started. The governments and leaders of the nations were the ones who pressed war; the people did not. Leaders would even have borders built and their nations closed off. After decades of pointless government quarrels and riots between the people and government along with many peaceful protest a truce was established. The borders were broken down, the leaders came to terms, and the nations began to grow together as one once more. The reason why a war was not going to happen was because the people remembered the collision and the efforts everyone made to help.
With everyone living together in complete peace, the leaders decided to get rid of borders completely. Instead of being separate counties that made a nation that shaped an old Asia, they would become New Asia.
